RELATIONSHIPS:  Employees in this position are responsible to the Board of Trustees and the Staff-Parish Relations Committee with ongoing supervision by the Pastor.

HOURS:  this is a part-time, hourly, year-round position.  The job will average 20 -25 hours during a work week.  With less hours in the summer.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

General:  The Head Custodian will:

1.   Maintain the church building, equipment and grounds in an orderly condition with

       attention to cleanliness, good repair, comfort, safety and compliance with applicable codes.

2.   Arrange for and verify that custodial supervision is assigned for all activities held in the

church including Sunday Mornings, weddings, funerals, special worship services, dinners, and use of the facility by outside groups. 

3.  Work as part of the staff team to facilitate the life and ministry of the congregation. 

Specific:

  1. Inform and work with the Board of Trustees in the identification of and care for facility needs.
  2. Inform the Trustees of any issues regarding the  proper functioning of church electrical, heating, plumbing, and other mechanical systems
  3. Attend meetings as required 
  4. Maintain supply budget; maintain appropriate supplies as needed
  5. Maintain a current list of emergency contacts involving church facilities and equipment
  6. Perform addition duties in keeping with the position as mutually agreed upon with the pastor and/or the Trustees

COMPENSATION:  This is an hourly position.  Salary and other benefits will be detailed in the Employee interview process – Range $14.00 – $15.50 per hour 

EVALUATION:  An annual evaluation will be conducted by the Staff-Parish Relations

Committee with input from the Board of Trustees and Pastor.

Specific

To direct, lead and coordinate all music for the Modern 9 am worship service

  • Attend regular staff meetings.
  • Supervise all other music staff.
  • Insure that musical equipment is maintained in good working order
  • Create media using Mediashout for worship services
  • Create two different praise band teams
  • Create a team of volunteers to run media on Sunday morning
  • To perform additional duties as necessary in coordination with supervisor and SPRC.

COMPENSATION: Is based on experience and average of 15 hours per week, With more in the school year and less in the summer months.

EVALUATION: The Pastor will conduct an annual evaluation with input from the SPRC committee.

Regular Duties:

  • Be leader of leaders of building teams- not a person that does everything but is a big picture person
  • Develop and coordinate the Sunday Christian education program for children ages 3-through grade 6.
  • Oversee the nursery program for children not in Sunday School.
  • Insure the completion of required annual training and back ground checks for all volunteers and staff within the ministry.
  • Advocate for the involvement of children in the life ministry and mission of this congregation.
  • Develop Christian curriculum, teaching strategies, budget, purchase and maintain materials and supplies for programs.
  • Coordinate the Christmas programs and any other special children’s programs as needed .
  • Recruit and train volunteer support networks needed for Sunday School and other special programs.
  • Attend regular staff meetings
  • Plan community outreach events like Easter Egg Hunt, Trunk or Treat
  • Conducts relational ministry by being actively involved with the youth and their families.
  • Shares the vision of the youth program with the entire community of Albert Lea.

  • Success will be determined by the number of kidsMS/HS youth and adult volunteers involved in the ALUMC ministry.

Skills and requirements:

  • Working knowledge of Microsoft products including Word, Excel, Power point, Publisher.
  • Working knowledge of using a computer to modify and edit electronic pictures

TITLE:  CHANCEL CHOIR ACCOMPANIST – Apply to jobs@albertleachurch.org

RELATIONSHIPS:  Employees in this position are responsible to the Staff Parish Relations Committee and work under the supervision of the Music Director.

HOURS:  as necessary to fulfill responsibilities Hours per week will depend on the needs of the Chancel Choir. 

RESPONSIBILITIES:

General:  The Accomanist will:

  1. Provide accompaniment for the Chancel Choir, including:
  2. Performance on Sunday mornings according to a schedule established by the Music Director.
  3. Performance at special services which may include Lenten Services, Maundy Thursday, Good Friday, Thanksgiving, Christmas eve, and others as included in the church schedule;
  4. Preparation for and attendance at weekly rehearsals;
  5. Preparation for and attendance at additional rehearsals which may be needed to support the full choral program of the church.
  6. Accompany soloists and small groups for special music as needed including weekly small Group woman’s group Faithtones and two concerts a year. 
  7. Perform additional duties in keeping with the position as mutually agreed upon with the Music Director.

COMPENSATION:  This position is a flat rate per event, session or date.  Salary and other benefits will be detailed in the Employment Agreement.

EVALUATION:  The Staff-Parish Relations Committee will conduct an annual evaluation with input from the Chancel Choir Director.
